Guarana is a berry native to the Amazon Basin of Brazil. The Guarana plant features large leaves and clusters of flowers, and is best known for its fruit, the Guarana berry, which is about the size of a coffee bean. As a dietary supplement, Guarana is an effective stimulant: it contains about twice the caffeine found in coffee beans (about 2–4.5% caffeine in Guarana seeds compared to 1–2% for coffee beans). Guaraná is reputed to be a stimulant and increase mental alertness, fight fatigue, and increase stamina and physical endurance.
Why do we use Guarana?
We use Guarana in our products because it is one of the most simple and natural forms of caffeine. In addition to that, it contains about twice the caffeine found in coffee beans. Oh yeah! And it tastes delicious too.

Who should not drink BAWLS Guarana?
Just as with any other highly caffeinated product, we recommend that children, pregnant women and others with health concerns or caffeine sensitivity consume BAWLS Guarana in moderation.
Will caffeine dehydrate me?
Researchers used to believe that caffeinated drinks had a diuretic effect. This means that you would urinate more after drinking them, which could increase your risk of becoming dehydrated. Recent research shows that this is not true and that caffeine only has a diuretic effect if you consume large amounts of it — more than 500 to 600 milligrams a day.*
How much caffeine is too much?
The FDA recommends that adults consume no more than 300 mg of caffeine per day (about the content of 3 16oz cans of BAWLS). Of course, children and individuals sensitive to caffeine should consume much less. Having too much caffeine in your body can result in nervous issues, difficulty sleeping and a rise in blood pressure. We encourage BAWLS drinkers to consume caffeine in moderation and not drink multiple bottles in one sitting.
